Eng's package is designed to provide Canadian Professional Engineers the opportunity of fulfilling up to 30 of their formal activity PDH, CPD, or continuing education requirements (including 2 ethics credits) while developing their knowledge and skills pertaining to a variety of construction management and design topics.
Through the combination of theoretical and practical knowledge provided in this package, engineers will gain an intermediate understanding of construction site preparation, such as the control of stormwater runoff on construction sites and the installation of site ground dewatering equipment.
Dealing with the topics of soil science and testing, courses are provided on both urban construction site soil types and on the sampling of soil in frozen ground.
For those P. Engs wishing to take courses of an architectural nature, an eight-hour course is provided on the topic of moisture-intrusion protection and vapor barrier design.
Also included are general courses on hoisting, safe scaffolding practices, and fall prevention in construction.
