This course describes the basic components that are typically found in air handling units, such as the fan unit, flow dampers, vanes, fan blades, pitch drives, filtration systems, heating and cooling coils, mixing boxes, and humidification systems.
Topics:
Basic Fan Types (Centrifugal and Axial)
Axial Fans (Propeller, Tubeaxial, and Vaneaxial)
Centrifugal Fans (Forward curved, Airfoil, Backwardly Curved/Inclined, Radial Tip/Blade)
Other Fan Types (Tubular-centrifugal, Inline centrifugal duct) Fan Classes
Fan Laws and Sizing
Fan Curves, System Curves
Fan Discharge Control
Discharge Air Dampers
Variable Inlet Vanes, Pitch Blades, Speed Drives
Heating and Cooling Coils
DX/VAV Systems
Filters and Filter Banks, Mixing Boxes
Humidification
