This session provides a structured approach to reviewing façade and glazing shop drawings with a focus on coordination, constructability, and code compliance. While the Ontario Building Code will be used as a case example, the review principles discussed are applicable across Canadian jurisdictions.
Participants will gain practical insight into how envelope packages are detailed, where coordination commonly breaks down, and how to strengthen review processes before drawings are released for fabrication.

Hourieh Abna is an architectural professional and project coordinator based in Toronto, bringing over nine years of experience across design development, working drawings, and construction delivery. Her work sits at the intersection of architecture and construction management, where she supports project teams in delivering coordinated, buildable, and code-compliant outcomes, with particular expertise in the Ontario Building Code (OBC). Since beginning her career in Canada, Hourieh has played a key role in high-rise building envelope and façade scopes, working closely with consultants, trades, and internal stakeholders to advance complex project packages. She also brings hands-on project management experience from residential construction, including site coordination, contractor bid reviews, and ensuring execution aligns with design intent. Over the course of her career, she has contributed to projects totaling more than 500,000 square feet, with a combined value exceeding $300 million.
