This2.5-hour course describes medium voltage transformers. There are over 50 million medium voltage transformers in operation in the United States. These transformers convert utility primary voltages (5 kV to 35 kV) to end use voltages for residential, commercial, and industrial uses.Â
This is volume two of two volumes. Volume II discusses practical applications of medium voltage transformers such as loading issues and energy losses, transformer components, and wiring connections used to produce different voltage configurations. Other factors such as how fault current generation and ferroresonance impacts the operation of transformers are covered in this volume.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
