The course "management of information technology" tells you how to get the best advantage from today's much-improved technology. Today social media can be used to advertise your business and attract new clients, help you to serve your clients, automate many tasks you may now be done manually, and in many other ways.
The more we use technology to help run our business the more reliant we become on it. If it is not available, has been hacked, or is not working properly, this prevents us from marketing, conducting our business, and working with our customers and suppliers. Accordingly, a major part of this course is devoted to describing the major risks that exist and practical ways to protect ourselves from them. Over 10 different kinds of risks are covered.
This course will be helpful to those who own a business or provide advice to clients on how best to use technology and manage risks. The material also covers those things that management needs to do themselves and steps management should take to ensure the work done by others at the technical and implementation level is properly performed.
Last but not least, we review the major changes in technology and the related impacts that will occur over the next few years.
